Basketball Recap: Leakey Comes Up Short

Leakey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 94-15 loss at the hands of the Comstock Panthers. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Comstock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edgar Crane, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Ibarra, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 16 points and four steals.

Leakey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Comstock, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Leakey will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Medina at 1:30 p.m. on December 31st. Comstock and Ira will round out the year against one another at at 11:20 a.m. on December 27th. Ira will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Comstock surely won't give up without a fight.
