Basketball Game Preview: Hi-Plains Patriots vs. Cheylin Cougars

Hi-Plains is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Arickaree on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hi-Plains took a blow against Arickaree, falling 67-16. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cheylin took on Western Plains on Friday. Cheylin took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western Plains. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hi-Plains will need focus on slowing down Landon Schoenberger, one of several Cheylin players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Andrew Wright was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Cheylin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Hi-Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Hi-Plains lost to Cheylin on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024.
