Football Recap: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Perry Meridian Falcons
Greenwood was the 44-41 winner over Perry Meridian when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Greenwood Woodmen fell 35-28 to the Perry Meridian Falcons on Saturday. The Woodmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Scaramazzo, who rushed for 192 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Scaramazzo a new career-high in rushing yards. Davion Jones was another key pass catcher, picking up 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Perry Meridian can attribute much of their success to Allen Zupan, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 44 yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Byron Hon, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Perry Meridian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenwood will take on Decatur Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Decatur Central's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Perry Meridian, they will face off against Martinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Martinsville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Perry Meridian surely won't give up without a fight.
