Santaluces win going away against Spanish River

Recap: Santaluces Chiefs vs. Spanish River Sharks

Even though The Spanish River Sharks scored an imposing 34 points on Thursday, the Santaluces Chiefs still came out on top. Santaluces took down Spanish River 52-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santaluces also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santaluces to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anatay Smith, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Israel Marion was in the mix too, providing Santaluces with two touchdowns.

Spanish River's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aj Truiolo, who threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Blake Wallace did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 123 receiving yards.

Santaluces' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Spanish River, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Santaluces is on the road again on October 27th and play against Park Vista at 6:30 p.m. on October 27th. Park Vista is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Spanish River will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Suncoast at 6:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
