Baseball Recap: Bagdad Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Bagdad had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Valley Union Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sultans also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2018.

Valley Union's batters probably weren't too happy with Destry Owings, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up two walks).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Martinez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Bagdad pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.5 runs. As for Valley Union, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-6 record.
