Baseball Recap: Caruthers Extends Winning Streak to Two

Caruthers barely beat Fresno Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagle a 14-0 shutout on Friday. The game was the first time the Blue Raiders have beaten the Eagle on their field since April 12, 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Caruthers and bumps their season record up to 11-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Fresno Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Caruthers will face off against Chowchilla at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tribe have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Fresno Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Riverdale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.2 runs per game on average), something the Eagle will no doubt try to take advantage of.
