Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors vs. Stargate School Eagles

The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Stargate School Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Eagle Ridge Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Kent Denver on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Eagle Ridge Academy was outmatched by Kent Denver and fell 116-36. The match marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Stargate School didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson Academy on Tuesday and fell 66-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (62), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Stargate School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Eagle Ridge Academy came up short against Stargate School when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 63-58. Can Eagle Ridge Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
