Football Recap: Glenbrook North Takes a Loss

Glenbrook North played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Grant Community Bulldogs, falling 40-19. The Spartans have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Max Hembrey was a one-man wrecking crew For Grant Community. as he picked up 237 receiving yards and two scores. Hembrey really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 84 yards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Gipson, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Glenbrook North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Grant Community, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Glenbrook North will host Elk Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grant Community, they will head out to square off against Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
