Recap: ThunderRidge Grizzlies vs. Overland Trailblazers

The ThunderRidge Grizzlies had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They walked away with a 68-59 win over Overland. Given ThunderRidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Overland is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

ThunderRidge had a senior duo take command as Tommy Wight scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and Charlie Spann dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wight has scored at least 25% of ThunderRidge's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Crawford, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.

Siraaj Ali and TJ Manuel certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Ali scored 21 points along with seven rebounds, while Manuel scored 15 points. The game was Ali's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Isreal Littleton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

ThunderRidge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Overland, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will be home for the holidays to greet United at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Overland will be home for the holidays to greet Rock Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rock Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
