Baseball Recap: Moore Haven Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gateway Charter, Moore Haven was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Lehigh Lightning. For the Terriers, this counts as revenge for the 22-3 victory the Lightning walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.

Thaddeus Johns and Jaelin Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Johns tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Johnson pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Johns went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Johnson went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Johns has posted since back in February of 2025.

Moore Haven's record is now 5-3. As for Lehigh, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Moore Haven will look to defend their home field on Monday against The Village School of Naples at 6:00 p.m. As for Lehigh, they will head out to challenge Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th.
