Basketball Recap: San Tan Foothills Takes a Loss

San Tan Foothills won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They had to suffer through a 55-28 loss at the hands of the Marana Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sabercats of the 57-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

San Tan Foothills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alianna Taylor, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmira Taylor, who had seven points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Among those leading the charge was Adrian Griffin, who put up nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dixon-Jordan, who posted eight points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, San Tan Foothills fell to 2-1. As for Marana, their record now sits at 2-3.

San Tan Foothills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-31 loss against Vista Grande on the 14th. As for Marana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-31 defeat against ALA - West Foothills on the 13th.
