Softball Recap: Benicia Victorious

After losing to Rodriguez the last time they met, Benicia decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Benicia Panthers had just enough and edged out the Rodriguez Mustangs 3-1.

Alana Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Benicia let Emma French and Ava Rojas run wild. French scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Rojas scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Benicia now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rodriguez, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benicia will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Clayton Valley Charter at 4:30 p.m. on April 3rd. As for Rodriguez, they will square off against Pioneer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
