Basketball Recap: Lake Region Christian Drops Season-High Score on Maplewood Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Region Christian). They took down the Maplewood Academy Huskies 50-32 on Tuesday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lake Region Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aleah DeVries out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. DeVries has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Blair Alquist, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Lake Region Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive matchups.

Lake Region Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-13.

Coming up, Lake Region Christian will face off against Woodcrest Baptist Academy at 5:15 p.m. on February 11th. Lake Region Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Maplewood Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
