Basketball Recap: Cartersville Gets the Win

Cartersville's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over the Cass Colonels. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hurricanes as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cartersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nas Bennett, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 20 points. That's the most points Bennett has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Johnson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Cartersville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The win got Cartersville back to even at 3-3. As for Cass, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5.

Cartersville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-61 victory against Hiram on the 13th. As for Cass, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-46 loss against Cedartown on the 13th.
