Softball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield and Bear Creek squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Fairfield had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Bear Creek, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bear Creek, they will face off against Destiny Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season.
