Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Wilson

The Lakewood Gators will head out to challenge the Wilson Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood has given up an average of 6.4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They lost 6-0 to Crestwood on Tuesday. Lakewood have struggled against Crestwood recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Wilson made sure to put some goals up on the board against Lower Richland on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Diamond Hornets a 5-0 shutout. Considering Wilson have won three matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wilson's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Lakewood suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Wilson when the teams last played back in March. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
