Baseball Game Preview: Lakewood Ranch Mustangs vs. Riverview Sarasota Rams

The Lakewood Ranch Mustangs will face off against the Riverview Sarasota Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Lakewood Ranch nor Riverview Sarasota posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Tuesday, Lakewood Ranch didn't have quite enough to beat Naples and fell 3-2.

At the plate, Carter Sprague made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Sprague is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Luis Flores was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota lost 12-2 to Palmetto on Tuesday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Riverview Sarasota saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Rhymestine, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Rhymestine has posted since back in April of 2024.

Riverview Sarasota's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Lakewood Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
