Basketball Game Preview: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Sonora Wildcats

The Hilmar Yellowjackets will take on the Sonora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilmar is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Hilmar is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Escalon on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hilmar came up short against Escalon, falling 67-46. The Yellowjackets were down 53-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Aaron Solorio, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. Those six blocks gave him a new career-high. Christian Peebles was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Sonora came up short against Orestimba on Friday and fell 75-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (57), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Hilmar, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.
