Baseball Recap: West Jordan Finds Home Field Redemption Against Hunter

There's no place like home for West Jordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hunter Wolverines an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Payton Smith's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Jaxon Rowley and Ethan Baldwin did most of the damage at the plate: Rowley scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Baldwin scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Rowley has posted since back in April of 2024.

West Jordan's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hunter, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Jordan beat the Wolverines by a score of 14-4 on Wednesday.
