There was early excitement for Wharton after they claimed the first goal on Friday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Plant Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Wharton's goal came courtesy of Napoleao Neves, who's now up to five this season.

Wharton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6-1. As for Plant, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season.

Wharton has already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Newsome on the 14th. As for Plant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Sumner on the 14th.
