Preview: Buckeye vs. West Ouachita
West Ouachita have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Buckeye at 7:00 PM. West Ouachita are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.
West Ouachita took an ego-bruising defeat against Ruston two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Thursday. West Ouachita had enough points to win and then some against DeRidder last Thursday, taking their matchup 35-16. The win was a breath of fresh air for West Ouachita as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, we expected Buckeye to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Leesville, and they did. Buckeye have to be aching after a bruising 14-41 loss to Leesville. Buckeye were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-28.
Everything went West Ouachita's way against Buckeye the last time the two teams met as they made off with a 43-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Ouachita since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
