Soccer Recap: Washington County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greene County last Thursday, Washington County came back down to earth. The Washington County Golden Hawks lost 10-0 to the Evans Knights on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Hawks of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Washington County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Evans, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington County will head out to challenge Dodge County at 5:30 p.m. on March 4th. As for Evans, they will head out on the road to take on Effingham County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Evans has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 19 goals over their last three matches.
