Baseball Recap: Desoto County Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

DeSoto County got themselves on the board against Lake Placid on Monday, but Lake Placid never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Dragons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Logan Adkins's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because DeSoto County is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-14 otherwise.

At the plate, DeSoto County's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daylon White, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Trenton Alley was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

DeSoto County pushed their record up to 9-16 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Placid, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

As of now, neither DeSoto County nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
