Softball Recap: Pace Has No Trouble Against Donna

While Pace put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Donna. The Pace Vikings were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Donna Redskins. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.

Luna Juarez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Juarez was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Victoria Vasquez was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Anafernanda Perez, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Pace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The victory got Pace back to even at 5-5. As for Donna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8-1.

Coming up, Pace is taking a road trip to face off against Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Porter's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so Pace's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Donna, they will welcome Weslaco East at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Weslaco East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
