Baseball Recap: La Canada Wins Going Away Against Oakwood

There's no place like home for La Canada, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let the Oakwood Owls get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Friday. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.

La Canada let Will Park and Finn Flowerhogan run wild. Park scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Flowerhogan scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Flowerhogan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Benji Geller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: La Canada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

La Canada has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Oakwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Canada will head out to challenge Pasadena at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oakwood, they will venture away from home to face off against Saugus at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
