The Rivermont Collegiate Lions lost against the Quad Cities Christian Eagles back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Rivermont Collegiate fell 53-45 to Quad Cities Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rivermont Collegiate in their matchups with Quad Cities Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Rivermont Collegiate lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tahir Kaplan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eamon Matlock, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Rivermont Collegiate's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Quad Cities Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rivermont Collegiate will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Quad Cities Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Quad Cities Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Morning Star Academy at 5:00 p.m.
