Volleyball Recap: Beech Grove Takes a Loss

Beech Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Franklin Central Flashes. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Flashes when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-8.

Franklin Central found their leader in sophomore Emily Williams, who had nine aces and five assists. Those nine aces set a new season-high mark for Williams. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Nichols, who had 17 assists.

Beech Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Franklin Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Beech Grove and Franklin Central will both be playing Martinsville the next time they take the court. The Hornets will host the Artesians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Flashes will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
