Basketball Recap: Demaja Dunston Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

Mid Valley posted their biggest win since December 11, 2024 on Friday. They blew past the Western Wayne Wildcats 54-28. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Mid Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Demaja Dunston, who posted 15 points and four steals. Dunston's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kaleik Cook was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Mid Valley and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Western Wayne, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Mid Valley and Western Wayne could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Mid Valley (ranked 265th) will meet Riverside (ranked 31st) at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Western Wayne will square off against Dunmore at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 412 places (630 vs. 218).
