John Carroll had won four straight home games and Carson Shoffner did his part to make it five on Friday. The Patriots slipped by the Archbishop Curley Friars 16-15 for which the team can thank Shoffner, who rushed for 114 yards and one score, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

When it comes to explaining why Archbishop Curley lost, don't look at Mike Cutchember. Despite the final result, he rushed for 103 yards and one TD.

John Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Archbishop Curley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
