Softball Game Preview: Riddle Irish vs. Bonanza Antlers

For the second straight game, Riddle will face off against Bonanza. The Irish will be playing at home against the Antlers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riddle has four straight victories, Bonanza has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Riddle is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Bonanza 25-2 on Tuesday. With that win, the Irish brought their scoring average up to 7.9 runs per game.

Ayla Hidebrand was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Riddle got a massive performance out of Natalie Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. Harris also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Estrada, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles.

Riddle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Riddle pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Bonanza, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
