            Softball Recap: Fairmont Cardinals vs. Redwood Valley Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Fairmont won against Luverne  on Thursday with ten  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Friday. Everything went Fairmont's way against Redwood Valley as they made off with  a  10-4 win. The result was nothing new for Fairmont, who have now won four matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Brylee Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-5 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gwyn Schultz, who  went 3-for-6 with one  home run, four  runs,  and five  RBI. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lexi Sundeen, who  got on base  in four of her six plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI.
The  victory made it two in a row for Fairmont and  bumps their season record up to 9-4. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Redwood Valley, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairmont will challenge Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Redwood Valley, they will face off against Windom at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last five games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
