Baseball Game Preview: Upper Dauphin Area Trojans vs. Susquenita Blackhawks

The Upper Dauphin Area Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Susquenita Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Upper Dauphin Area is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Upper Dauphin Area came out on top against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the WolfPack. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.

Nolan Schreffler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Upper Dauphin Area: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Minier, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Susquenita didn't have quite enough to beat Big Spring on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Billy Syster made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.

The win got Upper Dauphin Area back to even at 9-9. As for Susquenita, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Upper Dauphin Area has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Susquenita struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
