Lipscomb Academy waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took down the Pope John Paul II Knights 49-34. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Knights are ranked 197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lipscomb Academy pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Pope John Paul II, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
