Baseball Recap: Lincoln County Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Lincoln County's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Liverpool Warriors by a score of 9-5. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-22-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Walker Kessel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Garrett Adkins was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Chaffin, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lincoln County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Liverpool, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Lincoln County will take on Cherry Hill West at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Liverpool, they will venture away from home to square off against Tuscarora at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
