Baseball Recap: Will Rogers College's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Will Rogers College dropped their record down to 7-22 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 6-2 to the Kiefer Trojans. The Ropers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Trojans' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Kiefer, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Kiefer's part, Daxton Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Smith has posted since back in March. Owen Murphy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Will Rogers College will be playing in front of their home fans against Chouteau-Mazie at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kiefer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
