Recap: Baptist Hill Bobcats vs. Burke Bulldogs
The Baptist Hill Bobcats lost against the Burke Bulldogs last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Baptist Hill took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burke. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Baptist Hill in their matchups with Burke: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Baptist Hill still got an impressive performance from Jaden Douglas, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. Douglas has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harold Gathers, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Baptist Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Burke, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Baptist Hill will be playing at home against Military Magnet Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Baptist Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Burke, they will head out on the road to take on Charleston Math & Science at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burke will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Charleston Math & Science surely won't give up without a fight.
