Baseball Recap: Harlingen Has No Trouble Against San Benito

Harlingen made up a huge gap compared to their last game against San Benito, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cardinals never let the Greyhounds get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. That looming 7-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cardinals yet this season.

Dominic Gonzales made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Harlingen is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Gonzales was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Marco Snavely was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Isaiah Gaytan was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The victory snapped Harlingen's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-11 record. As for San Benito, their record now sits at 9-11.
