It was a good run, but Lovelady unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 43-33 to the Leon Cougars. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 52-44.

Lovelady's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 23-5. As for Leon, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Latexo the next time they take the court. Leon will host Latexo at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, while Lovelady will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
