Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Eureka's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

There's no place like home for Eureka, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Red Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Eureka was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15.

Macy Berg paced Eureka's offense, picking up ten kills. Berg got some help from Shelbi Mead and her 16 assists. Mead was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Kendall Stroer and Abbi Koelling certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Stroer had 19 digs, while Koelling had 14 digs and two assists. Stroer has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Eureka is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Eureka has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against St. Francis Borgia on the 1st. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Notre Dame on the 1st.
