Basketball Recap: Henderson Collegiate Piles Up the Points Against Cristo Rey Research Triangle

There's no place like home for Henderson Collegiate, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Cristo Rey Research Triangle Bulls 58-12. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Pride considering their 23-point performance the contest before.

Leading Henderson Collegiate to victory were Aden Branche and Semar Isreal. Branche shot 43% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Isreal went 9-for-20 en route to 23 points. Those four steals gave Branche a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jamarion Marcus, who posted four points along with five rebounds and five steals.

The victory got Henderson Collegiate back to even at 1-1. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Henderson Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-34 win against Kerr-Vance Academy on the 10th. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they will welcome Neuse Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
