The South Florence Bruins lost against the Hartsville Red Foxes on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, South Florence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Hartsville is ranked 35th).

Despite the loss, South Florence saw an underclassman step up: Madison Randolph scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Randolph pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amari Gamble, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Florence will take on Wilson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wilson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday. As for Hartsville, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Fairfield Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Fairfield Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Hartsville likes a good challenge.
