Baseball Recap: McGehee Takes a Loss

McGehee's last matchup with Rison could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Owls came up short against the Wildcats, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Owls couldn't push the score so high this time.

McGehee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Jefferson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. The Owls are 2-1 when Jefferson posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-4 otherwise.

The loss snapped McGehee's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-5 record. As for Rison, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McGehee will venture away from home to face off against Harmony Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.07 runs per game on average), something the Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rison, they will challenge Hamburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
