Basketball Recap: Messiah Mcfadden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blackville-Hilda over Hunter-Kinard-Tyler

Blackville-Hilda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans, falling 85-64. The Fighting Hawks were probably out for revenge after losing 66-54 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Blackville-Hilda's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Messiah McFadden, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Keshan Sincino, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Blackville-Hilda's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Blackville-Hilda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-61 win against Wagener-Salley on the 24th. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler has also already played their next contest, a 62-59 victory against Horse Creek Academy on the 24th.
