Basketball Recap: Cedarville Find Success

Cedarville hadn't done well against West Liberty-Salem recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cedarville Indians walked away with a 48-39 win over the West Liberty-Salem Tigers. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 52-31 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, West Liberty-Salem still got an impressive performance from Ava Astorino, who went 6 for 15 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline McGill, who posted four points and ten rebounds.

The win got Cedarville back to even at 9-9. As for West Liberty-Salem, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Cedarville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-40 victory against Shawnee on the 29th. As for West Liberty-Salem, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-35 defeat against West Jefferson on the 30th.
