Basketball Recap: Christ Covenant Takes a Loss

Christ Covenant fought the good fight in their overtime game against Trinity Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Tigers. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 48-38.

Trinity Christian found their leader in sophomore Macey Skinner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds. Those 20 boards set a new season-high mark for Skinner. Riley Burnham was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Christ Covenant has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ Covenant has already played their next contest (against Lawrence Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Trinity Christian has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Community Christian.
