Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount Academy Eagles vs. Trinity Christian Crusaders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rocky Mount Academy can now relate to. They took a blow against the Trinity Christian Crusaders on Tuesday, falling 87-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Crusaders are ranked 61st).
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gehrig Miller, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Honey, who put up four points and eight boards.
Logan Stafford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trinity Christian, going 13 of 21 on his way to 31 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Stafford now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Xayden Watson, who earned six points in addition to 13 assists and six rebounds.
Rocky Mount Academy now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Trinity Christian, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-8.
