            Baseball Recap: Plainfield Quakers vs. Zionsville Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            If Plainfield was riding high  fresh off their  8-1 takedown of Terre Haute South Vigo on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Quakers fell just short of the Zionsville Eagles by a score of  4-3 on Monday.
Plainfield got a good showing from  Ryan Garver, who   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. Garver has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Plainfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Gavin Lykins, who  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Zionsville, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield will face off against Decatur Central at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something the Quakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Zionsville, they will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Franklin Central  at 6:00  p.m. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the  squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Flashes have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
