Softball Recap: Myers Park's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but Myers Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 18-4 to the Cuthbertson Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 12-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Reese Hautop made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Myers Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Cuthbertson, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Myers Park will welcome Ballantyne Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ballantyne Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.21 runs per game on average), something Myers Park will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cuthbertson, they will be playing at home against Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Weddington will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Cuthbertson surely won't give up without a fight.
