Baseball Recap: Lee Academy Comes Up Short

Lee Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Memphis Home Education Association. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Landon George was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lee Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Memphis Home Education Association, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lee Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Memphis Home Education Association at 6:30 p.m. on March 20th. As for Memphis Home Education Association, they will venture away from home to challenge Southaven at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
