Baseball Recap: Ames' Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Ames had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Waterloo East Trojans with a sharp 11-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Little Cyclones also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2024.

Ames' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Waterloo East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ames beat the Trojans by a score of 10-0 later that day.
